
November 11, 2025 — Singer Benson Boone has responded with humor and disbelief after being left out of the 2026 Grammy Awards nominations, following his Best New Artist nod at last year’s ceremony.
Boone, known for his viral lyric “moonbeam ice cream” from the song Mystical Magical on his American Heart album, shared his reaction on Instagram Stories on Monday, November 10.
“Can’t believe moonbeam ice cream didn’t get a Grammy nom,” Boone wrote alongside a selfie.
“It’s literally pure lyrical genius,” he added.

Boone earned widespread attention at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, performing his chart-topping hit Beautiful Things. That year, the singer received his first-ever Best New Artist nomination, a milestone in a breakout period for his career.
“I met so many new people that I look up to and that I think are so incredible,” Boone said about attending the awards in 2025.
“I feel like that performance helped people connect the dots between Benson Boone and Beautiful Things.”
