Fraser Dingwall Plays Down Injury Concerns After Northampton Saints’ Win Over Harlequins
England centre Fraser Dingwall has reassured fans after being stretchered off during Northampton Saints’ dominant 66-21 victory over Harlequins at the weekend.
Dingwall was involved in a tackle on Kieran Treadwell that left him knocked unconscious, according to Saints director of rugby Phil Dowson. The centre was treated on the pitch for several minutes by medical staff before being carried off in a head brace.
Dingwall’s Update
In an Instagram post on Monday, Dingwall downplayed the incident, saying:
“Enjoying rugby with this lot at the moment. Thanks for all the well wishes after the weekend too! I just wanted a snooze after the festive period it seemed, but thankfully all OK.”
The positive update will provide reassurance to Saints supporters, who saw Dingwall make his Northampton debut back in 2018 and become a key member of the squad.
Northampton’s Strong Form
The weekend victory saw Northampton Saints score 10 tries and maintain a perfect start in the Premiership, sitting two points clear at the top of the table.
The team now switches focus to European competition, with an away Champions Cup tie against Bordeaux this weekend—a repeat of last season’s final, which Bordeaux won. Northampton currently sit 2-0 in their Champions Cup group, maintaining momentum in both domestic and European competitions.
Club Update
A further update on Dingwall’s condition is expected from the club on Wednesday, ahead of the important European fixture. Saints will be hoping their star centre can return to action swiftly and continue contributing to the club’s successful campaign.
