Controversial Nigerian personality Bobrisky, also known as Idris Okuneye, sparked online reactions after revealing her disinterest in football. The post followed Nigeria’s Super Eagles’ loss to Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025).
Unlike many fans expressing disappointment over the national team’s defeat, Bobrisky took a different angle by mocking the sport itself. She admitted she has never been a football enthusiast and tied her lack of interest to her feminine identity.
In an Instagram story, she said she cannot relate to the excitement of watching men scream goals, describing herself as “too girly” to enjoy football. She added humorously:
“I’m never a fan of football… I don’t know what you guys enjoy in it. I’m too girly to sit down and watch grown men shouting goalllllllll 🤣 I’m really a girl 🤣.”
Bobrisky emphasized that her personality and lifestyle do not align with the thrill surrounding football, especially when it involves large groups cheering matches.
Her remarks came at a time when football dominated national conversation, making her playful dismissal of the sport stand out. Social media reactions were mixed, with some criticizing her for poking fun at a beloved sport, while others defended her right to personal preference.
