Imo State Vows to Sustain TETFund Partnership to Boost Tertiary Education

Governor Hope Uzodinma has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to a strong partnership with the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) to drive growth in the state’s tertiary institutions.

The Governor gave the assurance during the Southeast Stakeholders Town Hall Meeting organized by TETFund in Owerri. Represented by the Deputy Governor, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru, he stated that the collaboration would focus on impactful interventions in teaching, research, infrastructure, and innovation.

He highlighted the tangible benefits Imo State has already received from TETFund, including career development programs, upgraded health facilities, and state-of-the-art ICT incubation centers. The Governor also pledged the state’s continued commitment to the timely payment of its contributions to the fund.

Earlier, the TETFund board member representing the Southeast, Mrs. Esther Ukachukwu, outlined the agency’s strategic initiatives, which include establishing zonal research facilities for biotechnology and food security, deploying renewable energy mini-grids on campuses, and creating innovation hubs for entrepreneurship.
