
- epatriation Details:
- 131 Nigerians were repatriated from Agadez, Niger Republic under the Assisted Voluntary Return Programme, supported by the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) and the Nigerian government.
- The returnees arrived at Aminu Kano International Airport on Thursday, 30th October 2025, at 5:17 AM.
- Reception and Documentation:
- They were received by NEMA officials, working with the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI), the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), and other partners.
- NIS conducted biometric registration and documentation to aid proper identification and reintegration.
- Further profiling was carried out at the Nigeria Immigration Service Training School, Kano on 31st October.
- Demographics of Returnees:
- 118 male adults, 4 female adults, 2 male children, and 7 female children.
- Support Provided:
- Returnees received meals, drinking water, medical screening, ambulance services, logistical support, and coordinated reception services.
- The exercise reflects the federal government’s commitment to safe, dignified, and humane return of Nigerian citizens.
- Purpose and Collaboration:
- The program emphasizes safe migration, reintegration of returnees, and strengthening humanitarian support systems.
- Coordinated by NEMA, IOM, NCFRMI, and other stakeholders, the initiative ensures proper reintegration of Nigerians returning voluntarily from abroad.
