Speed Darlington on NAPTIP Watchlist Over Minor Sex Allegation

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has confirmed that rapper Speed Darlington (Darlington Okoye) remains on its security watchlist due to an allegation of sexual activity with a minor.

According to Mrs. Ijeoma Amugo, NAPTIP’s Director of Legal and Prosecution, the case stems from a May 2024 Instagram live video in which Speed Darlington allegedly claimed to have sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl. The rapper reportedly failed to cooperate with investigators, choosing instead to attack the agency on social media and refusing to attend interviews.

Investigators were unable to locate him at known addresses and later received intelligence that he had left Nigeria. Amugo stated:

“Our last information is that he’s outside Nigeria. We’ve placed him on the watchlist. The moment he steps back into the country, we’ll pick up the investigation.”

NAPTIP emphasized that the investigation will resume immediately upon his return to Nigeria.
