Pop icon Taylor Swift is set to make a highly anticipated appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this week, just days before the premiere of her new docuseries The End of an Era. The announcement was shared on December 8, 2025, via the official Instagram account for the show.
In the promotional video, Colbert, 61, energetically danced to Swift’s latest hit “Opalite” while wearing a sparkling red, white, and blue outfit. The clip concluded with a throwback moment from Swift’s 2021 appearance, where she greeted Colbert with her signature line, “Hey Stephen,” confirming that her 2008 song “Hey Stephen” was, in fact, not about the host, but humorously referencing Stephen King instead.
Swift’s Return to Late Night
This marks Swift’s first appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert since 2021. Fans can expect an intimate conversation about her musical journey, career milestones, and behind-the-scenes insights into her record-breaking Eras Tour.
“If you really want to know who ‘Hey Stephen’ is about… I’ve never revealed this to anyone else but Stephen King,” Swift joked during her 2021 appearance, highlighting her playful interaction with Colbert and her knack for storytelling.
The End of an Era Docuseries
Swift’s talk show appearance precedes the release of her docuseries, The End of an Era, which chronicles the development, impact, and behind-the-scenes workings of The Eras Tour. According to a press release, the docuseries offers an “intimate look at Taylor’s life as her tour made headlines and thrilled fans around the world.”
The six-part series will premiere with the first two episodes on December 12, 2025, with two new episodes releasing weekly thereafter.
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour – The Final Show
In addition to the docuseries, Swift will debut Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour – The Final Show on Disney+, featuring the full live recording of her final Eras Tour performance on December 8, 2024, at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, Canada. The film showcases the complete The Tortured Poets Department set, providing fans with an immersive concert experience from home.

Earlier in the week, Swift attended the Chiefs-Texans game alongside her best friend Selena Gomez to support fiancé Travis Kelce, giving fans a glimpse of her life offstage amid her busy promotional schedule.
