Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has explained why she deliberately avoids attending certain social events, saying her decision is guided by discernment and spiritual awareness.

In a post shared on her Instagram page, Okorie revealed that not every invitation is genuine, noting that some are motivated by ill intentions rather than goodwill.

According to the actress, prayer plays a crucial role in helping her identify people’s true motives, stressing that only God can reveal hidden agendas.

She explained that her absence from some events is not accidental, but intentional, adding that many people who invite her do not genuinely like her, but want her presence because she “brings life to the party.”

Okorie stated that no amount of appearance fee would make her attend events where her spirit gives her a warning.

“I follow my spirit, and there are places I don’t go, no matter how much you want me to come or how big the artist fee is,” she wrote.

She further warned about the dangers of blindly accepting invitations, claiming that some gatherings are carefully planned to harm unsuspecting guests.

“Not all invitations are meant for good. Some are plans to destroy or even kill,” she said, urging people to exercise caution and seek divine guidance before attending events.

Referencing recent controversial incidents in the entertainment industry, Okorie cautioned that people should not feel pressured to attend every event they are invited to, emphasizing that personal safety should always come first.

The actress concluded by expressing gratitude for divine protection, stating that her faith has kept her safe despite past challenges.
